When a large ship leaves port for a foreign land, the path is set.  The path in which that ship will travel is known unto the captain before the ship ever leaves port. The journey certainly consists of changes in coordinates along the way, but none the less, it is still the path. There comes times in the journey were change is a must and a different direction is taken, but none the less, it is still the path. So though change eventually comes and different coordinates are certainly taken, nothing has really changed at all, because none the less, it is still the path, the path that is known unto the captain before the ship ever left port.
